Mar 12, · Despite Queen Victoria feeling like a bucking bronco crossing the Atlantic the dancing in the Queens Ballroom still proved to be very popular. First and foremost the Queens Room Band/Orchestra provided excellent music for dancing with all the relevant tempos being spot-on. It was nice to hear a g. However in a similar way to which British and Irish folk dances had been inappropriately dubbed bush dances, Begged, Borrowed and Stolen was quickly adopted as the bible for bush dance music. As a secondary source of material Max Klubal's "Music for Australian Folk Dancing" was also widely used. Over the years Friday Folk have amassed a large quantity of music for dancing. This includes lots of records from the EFDSS, plus many from other artists. The early records are on vinyl, both 12 and 7 inch. Latterly we have acquired a number of CDs.
